It is believed that around 80 years ago, the worshipers seeking monetary help, used to leave a piece of paper mentioning their problems before of the idol and Lord Ganesha would shower his blessings upon them by eliminating all their troubles. As Wednesday is said to be Lord Ganesha’s day, you must visit the temple between 6:00 am to 8:00 pm.

The most exciting thing about this temple is that it is situated on top of a hill which is 900 meters above the sea level. In order to reach the shrine, one has to climb numerous stairs, the temple is dedicated to the Goddess Amba ji, and it is also called as ‘Udaipur ki Vaishno Devi’ as one has to climb heights to enter the cordial environment. The Eklinji Temple premises bears 108 temples in total, Shiva Bhakts (devotees) often visit the temple to worship Lord Shiva on Mondays, as Monday is believed to be the day of Lord Shiva. You must attend one of the evening aartis practiced around 7 pm, don’t forget to try some ‘Mirchi badas’ from the nearby vendors to satisfy your tingling taste-buds!

Behind this famous temple in Udaipur lies a thrilling story of Maharana Raj Singh, it is believed that he suffered from an incurable eye trouble, he planned to visit the temple of Goddess Amba in Gujrat but had a dream before that in which Goddess Amba instructed him to visit her on a particular location in Udaipur. The next day he headed towards the location and started the digging process with his courtiers, they found an idol of the Goddess, Maharana Raj Singh constructed the temple there and was later fully cured!
